1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Moonrise Studio (“Moonrise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information in connection with Moonrise Studio and related websites, applications, dashboards, builders, lead tools, publishing tools, and payment-related features (collectively, the “Service”). This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
By using the Service, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Moonrise provides software tools. How you use those tools, what you collect from third parties, what you publish, and how you communicate with businesses or clients remain your responsibility.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to information we process about users of the Service, visitors to our sites, and people who contact us for support or other business purposes. It does not govern websites you create for clients or third parties after those sites leave our control, except to the limited extent we host, process, or transmit data as part of operating the Service. If you publish a site, collect form submissions, or process payments for a client, you are responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents required for that activity.
3. Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and information from service providers that help us operate the Service.
Account and profile information may include your name or username, email address, password or authentication credentials, profile settings, avatar or cosmetic preferences, communication preferences, and other details you choose to store in Settings or related account screens.
Workspace and project information may include business names, addresses, phone numbers, maps links, notes, categories, pricing selections, website HTML or related project files, domain settings, contact-form settings, publish status, watermarks, QR business-card links, and other content you enter, generate, edit, upload, or store while using the Service.
Business-owner checkout information may include payment status, Stripe checkout session identifiers, invoice email addresses, and limited billing metadata when an owner pays through the watermark on a published site. Full payment credentials are handled by Stripe.
Contact-form and lead information may include names, phone numbers, messages, and related fields submitted through forms on published sites when a creator enables that feature. Those submissions may be stored in our database and/or emailed to the notification address the creator configures.
Creator contact information you add to your profile (such as display name, handle, email, or phone) may be embedded on watermarked published sites so business owners can reach you for site changes. Moonrise HQ contact details may also appear on those sites for billing and platform support.
Lead and research activity may include search queries, filters, saved leads, status markers, and related workspace actions. Some lead-related information may reflect publicly available business details or data obtained through third-party sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of such information.
Payment and financial information may include billing status, plan selections, credit balances, donation and MVP+ status, transaction identifiers, payout-related details you provide, creator revenue-share records, and limited payment metadata from our processors. Card numbers and sensitive payment credentials are generally handled by payment processors such as Stripe and are not stored by us in full where the processor manages checkout.
Optional push-notification information may include browser push subscription endpoints and related metadata if you enable notifications in a supported browser.
Support and correspondence information may include emails, help requests, phone communications, and related records when you contact us.
Technical and usage information may include IP address, device type, browser type, approximate location derived from network data, pages or features used, timestamps, diagnostic logs, error reports, cookies or similar technologies, and security-related events. We use this information to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain the Service; create and authenticate accounts; personalize workspaces; generate, edit, save, preview, and publish websites; inject and remove watermarks after payment; process payments, credits, subscriptions, donations, and payouts; deliver contact-form submissions; provide customer support; prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; enforce our Terms of Service; investigate violations; comply with legal obligations; and analyze and improve product performance and reliability.
We may also use information to communicate with you about account activity, security notices, product updates, billing matters, and policy changes. Where required by law, we will provide choices regarding non-essential communications.
We do not sell your personal information. We may use aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you for analytics, reporting, and product improvement.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service and as described in this Policy. Recipients may include service providers that perform hosting, database, authentication, analytics, email delivery, customer support tooling, payment processing, or similar functions on our behalf. These providers are expected to use information only to perform services for us or as otherwise required by law.
We may share information when you direct us to do so, such as when you publish a site, connect a domain, share a link, initiate a client payment flow, or otherwise make information public or available to a third party through features you choose to use.
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Moonrise, our users, or others; to investigate fraud, security issues, or Terms violations; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to appropriate protections.
6. Your use of tools and third-party data
Moonrise provides tools. If you use Business Finder, project tools, forms, websites, messaging, or payment features to interact with businesses, clients, or customers, you are solely responsible for that activity. This includes responsibility for how you collect, store, use, share, and delete information about other people or businesses, and for complying with applicable privacy, marketing, and consumer laws.
We are not responsible for privacy practices on websites you create or publish for yourself or others, except to the limited extent those sites are hosted or processed through our Service. You should ensure that any site you publish includes appropriate notices and that any form submissions or client payments are handled lawfully.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, maintain security, measure usage, and operate core product features. Disabling certain technologies may limit or prevent use of parts of the Service. Where a browser or device setting restricts storage, some features may not function as intended.
8. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, detect abuse, comply with legal and accounting requirements, and support legitimate business needs. Retention periods vary by data type and context. When information is no longer needed, we may delete it, aggregate it, or de-identify it. Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period until those backups are cycled according to our systems.
9. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for securing devices you use to access the Service.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us promptly. Moonrise is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to protect account credentials or devices, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Your choices and requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may update some account information directly in Settings. To request account deletion or other privacy-related assistance, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and we may retain certain information when required or permitted by law, such as for security, fraud prevention, accounting, or dispute resolution.
Some processing is necessary to operate your account. If you delete your account or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, you may lose access to the Service and associated data.
11. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it where required.
12. International processing
We may process and store information in the United States and in other locations where we or our service providers operate. If you access the Service from outside those locations, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data-protection rules from those in your jurisdiction.
13. No liability for outcomes of tool use
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moonrise is not responsible for damages, losses, claims, or disputes arising from your use of the Service or from information you collect, generate, publish, or share using our tools. We provide software utilities. We do not control your business practices, client relationships, marketing campaigns, published websites, or third-party interactions. Any privacy, security, legal, or commercial consequence arising from those activities is your responsibility.
14. Enforcement and misuse
If you misuse personal information obtained through or in connection with the Service, violate privacy laws, abuse the platform, or otherwise create risk or harm, we may suspend or permanently ban your account, remove content or sites, and report conduct to payment processors, regulators, law enforcement, or affected parties where appropriate. Misuse may also result in civil or criminal consequences under applicable law. This Policy does not limit those consequences.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
